MORE NAMES is a collection of short stories with photographs at the center and the end (Photography, Design and Art Direction by Julia Andréone Ghazaal Vojdani of Europium Studio). The design of the books, each of which features a randomly selected inlaid postcard on its cover, creates a reading experience mimetic of the chance encounters captured within the microfictions. Part riddle, part film still, and part “quotes from Mom,” the stories use nouns (especially names) to create a temporal index of the utterance, the unconscious, and the unexpected. Like the photographs included throughout the book, they are snapshots of a moment in time, of historical specificity and contingency, and the [often named] human beings that make things happen that otherwise would not.
Sets of 16 postcards with microfictions on the back are sold separately.
